Product Media Templates for Single and Multiple Product Data

Media Manager -- Product Media

Introduction

Product Media Templates can be used by Admins to create on the fly Media Items. This type of Template integrates with Product Display Tables and Advanced Product Search -- this allows for the Templates to pull data from multiple Products into a single table. There are two main flavors of Product Media -- Single Product per Page, and Multiple Products per Page.

Single Product Per Page Templates

The Single Product per Page flavor of Product Media is very similar to Product Account and Product Participant. Add rows of plain text, operators, and images, then Save your work, and print for a single Product via the Edit Product Screen, or print for multiple Products via Product Advanced Search.

Multiple Product Per Page Template

The Multiple Product per Page flavor of Product Media integrates with Product Display Tables. This allows you to pull data from multiple Products into a data grid. This grid can be added to a Template to display data from multiple Products together in a table.

Multiple Product Sort Order: note that when using multi-product grids, the products are ordered first by Sort Order of the product (on the advanced tab) and then alphabetically by the product name.

Building Your Data Grid

First, you will want to create your data grid. Login to the Administrative side of your database, and navigate to Settings --> Management --> Product Display Columns. Click the "Add New Display Table"  button.

Input a Title, choose the Type of "Media Product Grid", and click the "Save" button.

Click the "Edit Items" button for your grid, and then click the "Add New Column" button. Here, you will be able to create a column for your table. Choose the Field Type of "Product Field Columns". Input a Header Name. This will be displayed at the top of the table. Choose a Field. Depending on the field, you may be able to choose a data format. Input a Sort Order. Sorts are left to right, so the field with the lowest Sort Order value will be furthest left. Input a Width (in pt). You can also choose to format the text of the Header as well as the data rows -- for example you can change the font type. Click "Save", and then repeat the process for each field that you want in your table.

Building Your Multi Product Media Template

Navigate to Settings --> Management --> Media Manager. Click the "Add New Media" button. Input a Title, choose the Type of "Product Media," choose a "Multi Product" Style, and (optionally) choose a Background Image.

On the Edit Media screen, choose your Data Grid. Select the row that you want the grid to be on. Optionally, input text on another row. To see a preview of how the Data Grid will look populated with data, search for and select a Product, and click the Save & Refresh Preview button. To download a PDF version of the preview, click the "PDF Preview" button.

Note: The Previewer will display data for up to five (5) Products.
