Assigning Product Account and Participant Certificates

Media Manager -- Product Account & Product Participant Certificates

Introduction

Product Account and Product Participants Certificates are the types of Media that can be assigned to Products.  Product Certificates are available to Users via their Account Dashboard upon Purchase. Product Participant Certificates are made available upon Purchase, or if there is a Calendar setup, you can add Attendance Requirements.

Assigning a Certificate to a Product

Go to the Products section the Administrative Console, find and select your Product, open the Assignments tab, select Product Certificates, drag the Certificate from the Unassigned to the Assigned column, and ensure that it is set to "Apply".  Like other Assignable Items, Certificates can be assigned at the Category and Region level for ease of assigning an item to multiple Products.

Staff Member Operators

You can assign a Primary Staff Member to a Product.

The Name and Credentials of the assigned Primary Staff Member will be used by the Instructor Name and the Instructor Credentials Operators.

Product Field Overrides

Products have a Certificate & Media tab. Open this tab to use override fields. This makes Media Templates more reusable and customizable. Input values in the override fields to have Operators used pull values from those fields instead of from wherever they usually would pull from.  For example, the Certificate Title field pulls from the Product Title. If you want a different value to be used for this Product, input that value into the Certificate Title field and click to save it.

Custom Field Values

You can define values for Custom Field Operators via the Certificate & Media tab. Input and save whatever value that you want into the Custom Field, and when Media Items are generated for that Product, the Operators in the Template will use that value.

Note: To create a hard-return in a custom field, input {{NewLine}} in the field. For example, if the field value was "Hello {{NewLine}} world," then it would display as the following in the media item:
Hello
world

Defining Attendance Requirements

For Product Participant Certificates, you can define whether or not the Participant must checked-into the Event via the Attendance Tool prior to receiving the Media Item. If the Event lasts for multiple days, you can define whether they need to: attend any day, attend all days, or attend the last day.

Users Access to the Media Items

Once a User has achieved a Media Item, they can access it via the Account Dashboard. The Dashboard is found by logging into to the Shopping Cart and navigate to Accounts --> My Account. There is a Certificates section, They can click the "Print" button on a Certificate to save or to print the Media Item. They will continue to have access to it every time the go to their Dashboard, and the system generated file name will not change.
