Importing Coupon Codes

Introduction

Configio enables you to create and update products by importing a file.

 

Feature Information

Manage coupon codes for a given discount by easily importing coupon codes from a file, you can use this feature to import codes from an external system into Configio.  

Creating a Template

Login to the Administrative side of your database, and navigate to Settings --> Assignments --> Discounts.

If you have not yet created a discount please click the link --> Discounts

To access the template click on the Edit Requirement link

 

From the Edit Requirement screen click on +Requirement to add a new discount if one has not yet been created

 

Add a title then choose a discount type and click Save to add the discount. 

 

Once the discount has been created click on the Edit option for that discount.

 

To upload codes or access the template click on the Import Codes link. 

 

Using the Template

We highly recommend using a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel to edit the template. The header row contains the names of the fields. Do not edit this row.

Each row is for a single coupon code. Do not input data for one coupon code on multiple rows. Input data that you want to import into the system, into the cells of the spreadsheet.    

 

Here is an example of how the spreadsheet can be populated.

 

Once you have added the coupon codes you want to upload to the spreadsheet make sure and save that spreadsheet to your local machine. On the import coupon codes page click "Browse" and locate the saved copy of the spreadsheet you have created.  

 

 

Now that the file you want to upload has been located click on "Preview Import". That will add the coupon codes to your database. 

Viewing the Import Results

A list of all the Coupon Codes that were imported will be listed, there will be a count for the total number of records that were imported, a count for the number of products that were updated, as well as a count for the number of products that were created. If there were any challenges with adding a specific coupon code during the import those errors will display to you with details as to what caused the error to occur. Coupon codes that are listed with an error will not be added to your database.
