How to Add and Manage Users in Event Manager | User Setup Guide

Users

Now that you are setup with your Event Manager database, it is time to delegate some responsibility. You need more users!

Start at Settings > Users. Start by entering information for your new user in the fields marked Username through Phone.

Add new user by clicking the "Add New User" button.

Click the edit button to be taken to the Edit User screen.

Note the Purchase Override Days field. This populates with the default value from Configuration "Default Admin Product Search Override length in days". You can enter a lesser value to restrict this user from overriding the Purchase End Date by a fewer number of days than default. (Note: the override the user has is determined as the lowest number from all of their user groups and user setting - so if they are in a group with 5 days and have a user setting of 10 days, the user will experience a 5 day override length.)

When editing the existing users click the gear icon to be taken to the Manage Assignments page.

Note: The fields in the Email Settings are only required if your new user will be handling HR processes.

After you save your new user, the username is greyed out and the password disappears.

Next you need to assign him to a User Group. The Available User Groups box on the right side of your display shows all of your user groups. Click on the group or groups you wish to add them to and then click the down arrow. See image below.

Notes: You can easily change or reset a user's password by selecting the user and entering a new password in the password box. Then click Save.
You can temporarily suspend a user's access by checking the Inactive box.
Users can occupy as many groups as needed.

Resetting Dashboards for a User

There is a Reset Dashboards button that, when clicked, deletes all the dashboards for the selected user, then resets them the default dashboards. The button is on both the Assignments and Permissions screens. Select either the Permissions or Assignments icons from the System Users screen.

Click the Reset Dashboards button, then click "OK" in the confirmation modal.

The User's Dashboards will be reset. Note: It resets which Dashboards and Widgets appear for the User; it does not change the Dashboards Permissions for the User.
