Searching for Documentation
Knowledge is an invaluable resource—and our team is committed to putting knowledge into your hands. Your client portal allows you to search our vast library of documentation and knowledge articles with ease, keeping you confident and in control of using the platform. A step-by-step process of the ways this can be done will be expounded below.
Three Methods of Searching
There are three ways through which knowledge articles can be explored:
- Home Page collection
- Home Page search
- Product Documentation
Let's take a thorough look at each below.
Home Page Collection
On the home page of the client portal, a curated collection of articles—labeled "Recommended Read"— can be seen at a glance:
This sampling of articles has been hand-picked by Momentive staff to be featured prominently on the home page du to their wide use cases. In the above screenshot, the articles are related to submitting/monitoring cases and an overview of the authenticated user's portal. These will apply to the vast majority of Momentive clients; this being so, their placement on the home page for easy access will prove to be useful for any user wanting a quick how-to or refresher.
By selecting the view all prompt on the bottom-left corner...

...reveals a comprehensive database of knowledge articles. These can be perused and sorted using the criteria running across the top of each column. A search bar is included in the top-right corner, as well.
Home Page Search
The client portal's Home Page features a prominent search bar, as well:
The results of any search query will include both titles and text. To illustrate—using the search term "monitoring cases" will yield the following:

As can be seen, both document text and titles with matching terms will populate. The relevant case(s) can then be selected and read.
Product Documentation
Selecting the Product Documentation option in the navigation bar allows users to search a third way. This option makes use of three dropdown menus: Product, Product Group, and Topic:
To illustrate, let's take a look at what the following search query yields: GiveSmart, Events, and Account Management:
Narrowing down the search results in this way will populate the article field with documentation matching the search criteria. If the dropdown menus are not turning up the articles desired, the search field above can be used to search specific terms and titles.
The client portal gives you the tools to be successful, from learning the tools at your disposal to using them to your advantage. If you're having difficulty finding information, please reach out to our support team.
