The Constraints Panel on the Advanced Tab allows you to limit who can purchase your product or register for your event based on age, gender, grade, number of participants, and combinations there of.
Example: You are hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tournament with different brackets for Men, Women, Co-Ed, and Youth teams. To ensure that teams register for the appropriate bracket, you will set up multiple constraints per event.
How To: Once you have created and saved your product, click the Advanced Tab and select the Constraints Panel near the left of the screen.
The drop-down menu below Title shows a list of possible Constraints:
Min Participant – this is the minimum number of team members required for a registration. In this example select Min Participant, enter a Value of ‘3’ then click Add.
Min/Max Age – you set the minimum and maximum age of each Participant using this Constraint. The allowable ages will be displayed on the Product’s descriptions in the Shopping Cart.
Min/Max Grade – this limits the age of each Participant using the settings in Setup > Company > Age To Grade. The allowable grades are displayed in the Shopping Cart just as the Min/Max Age are.
Min/Max Female/Male Team Members – this limits the number of Males or Females on a single team registration. (For example, a Co-Ed team would require a minimum of 1 for both Minimum Female and Minimum Male.)
Min/Max Female/Male – this limits the total number of Males or Females who can buy the product or register for the event. (An example is a summer camp class that can only have 12 girls and 12 boys based upon counselor staffing.)
In many cases, you will stack Constraints specifically to each event.
Tip: Be sure the maximum number of participants per registration (set on the Main Tab) is equal to or greater than the number listed for Min Participant, or your product/event will not be able to be purchased.
After saving the product, it will look like this in the Shopping Cart:
