Introduction
Courses can either be imported into the Learning Management System (LMS), or they can be built within the LMS. There are several building options. Click ADD NEW COURSE to begin.
Building a New Course From Scratch
If you want to create a new course from scratch, click NEW COURSE.
You will see the Edit Course screen with no information in any of the fields. Note: See The Edit Course Screen section below for information about these fields and instructions on how to use this screen.
Cloning an Existing Course
Click CLONE AN EXISTING COURSE to make an exact copy of an existing course, including all content.
You will see the Clone Course screen, where you can choose the Course to clone. Make your selection and click CLONE button.
You will then see the Edit Course screen for your newly cloned Course. You can then make edits, such as updating the Title of your new Course. Click to SAVE any changes.
Linked Course Content
The LMS has a Linked Course Content feature. By using Linked Content, you can have multiple Courses pointing at the same content. These Courses form a Chain. This allows you to edit and maintain one set of content, and see those modifications across the chain of Courses.
Creating a new Linked Course
If you want to create a new Course using linked content from an existing Course, click NEW LINKED COURSE. You many either choose add your new Course to existing chain of Courses, or you may choose to target an unlinked Course to create a new chain. After making your choice, you will see the Edit Course screen for your new Course. Input field values, and click to SAVE your new Course.
You will presented with the opportunity to choose from either a Course that has not yet had its Content Linked (and create a new Content Chain), or to choose from an existing Linked Course (to add to the Content Chain).
You will then see the Edit Course screen for your newly created Course. All the fields are blank. Input data, and click to SAVE.
Cloning a Linked Course
If most of the information on the Edit Course screen (shown above) of your new Course identical to that of the Course that you are linking content with, click to CLONE A LINKED COURSE.
Choose the source of your clone, and click CLONE LINKED COURSE.
You will see the Edit Course screen for your new Course, and the screen will include values cloned from the source Course. Make any desired changes, such as updating the Course’s Title, and click to SAVE your new Course.
