Create an Email Distribution List

You can use the Email Messages system to send batch emails to Accounts, Customers, or Contacts you have uploaded. Distribution Lists are lists of recipients that you create by certain criteria to receive an email campaign. Saved lists can be used for multiple campaigns.



Example: You need to send an email to everyone who purchased a particular Product.  You can Create an Email Distribution List for that Product.
Note: Distribution Lists are dynamically updated, meaning for example if you chose to create a list of Accounts who purchased a particular product, the Email Messages system will automatically add names as more people purchase the product.
How To: Under Settings > Email Campaigns, click the “Manage Email Campaigns” link:

Next click “Create Unique Distribution Lists” from the drop-down menus:



This will expand the “Create Unique Distribution Lists” window.

Now select your Parent List. The Parent List determines what email addresses will populate your list – Account holders, Participants, Staff, or Contacts.

Note: Contacts are uploaded into the Email Messages system. See Upload EmailAddress(es).



Once you've chosen your Parent List, in this case Accounts, choose how it will be filtered under Filter By:

The filter determines which emails are included. In this case, selecting By Product will filter your list to include the emails for Accounts who have purchased a specific Product.

Depending on the Filter you chose, you'll have the Option to designate what emails the list includes.  For instance if you chose By Product, a drop-down of each Product in your system will populate – choosing a Product will give you emails of Accounts who have Purchased that particular Product:

If you chose By Region and Category, a drop-down of Region and Category will populate for you to choose:
The Filter you choose determines what kind of filters you're presented with.
Once you have chosen your Parent List and Filter By, give the list a name and a description in the fields at the far right:



Be sure to click Save list once you have set all your filters and entered a List Name and List Description.
