Media Manager -- Mapped Media

Introduction

As an alternative to using data fields from within your database, Configio's Media Management System allows you generated Media Items with data that is from an uploaded spreadsheet. This works similarly to our Email Campaigns with Mapped Data. You can upload a spreadsheet, and the System will turn the column headers into Operators. You can then place those Operators into Rows. You can then upload the spreadsheet again, and then generate a Media Item. The System will use the column data in the Media Item, and Media Item will have a page for each data row.

Spreadsheet Format

Spreadsheets can be in XLSX or in CSV formatting. The top row (header) will be the names of the Operators, and the lower rows (data fields) will be values that the Operators generate.

Creating the Media Template

Go to the Administrative side of your database, and navigate to Settings --> Management --> Media Manager. Click the "Add New Media" button. Input a Title, choose the Type "Mapped Media", select a Style, and (optionally) add a Background Image.

On the Edit Media screen, click the "Choose a File" button, select your spreadsheet, and click the "Load Columns" button. The column headers from your spreadsheet will now be Operators that can be added to rows.

Adding Operators to Rows

Click the text field of the Row that you want to place your Mapped Operators into. You can combine the Operators with plain text, and you can place the Operators on any Row.

Generating Media Items
Once you have created your Media Template and added Operators to your Rows, you can generate Media Items. Click the "Choose File" button, select your spreadsheet, and click the "Generate PDF" button. An email will be sent to you. It will contain the Media Item. There will be one page per data row on the spreadsheet.

Downloading the Template

In the case that your spreadsheet is no longer available to you, you can click the "Download Template" to receive a spreadsheet with the top row populate with your Media Template's Operators.
