As Viddler has discontinued their video hosting for Configio, Configio is working on a long term video hosting solution. In the interim, this article will guide you through the process on how to embed videos into Configio's LMS by using the HTML Content Course Item.

Currently, the Video Course Item feature that you have used to house videos before will not function as a result of Viddler ending its hosting services. We do not advise using the Video Course Item feature until a new video hosting solution has been implemented.

The two video hosting solutions that we are recommending are Vimeo and YouTube. Please see the below articles from their respective help centers on how to generate an embed code to use in Configio:

Each embed provider will have different options you can explore, such as “autoplay” for YouTube or the height and width of the embedded video.

How to Embed a Video via HTML

Log into your Configio site

Go to LMS > Learner Courses

Locate the Course you wish to edit and click Edit Course Items or + Course

Select + Course Item

Select HTML Import HTML content > Add a Title for this HTML Content and click Save

In the Optional HTML Content text box, select View > < > Source Code

From this modal, you will paste the embed code that you generated from Vimeo or YouTube and you will then click Save.

Once completed, you may view the video on the course-taker side of your Configio site by impersonating an account that is enrolled in the LMS course.
